Echinocereus triglochidiatus
25th June 2006
The Echinocereus range from Mexico up into the southern states of the USA, and have a reputation for cold tolerance. They seem to need it drier in winter than I am able to manage.
This poor old thing went soft in the head, and collapsed from the middle outwards leaving nothing but a round crater of mush. I will probably have another try when I have fixed the
greenhouse roof properly, which was almost certainly the cause of its problems.

Almost by accident I have become the owner of another one, so I must make an effort to keep it warmer.
