Epipactis gigantea 'Serpentine Night'

I have wanted to grow the astonishing dark leaved form of the species for several years and I finally got around to purchasing it.
I repotted it and it grew rapidly but died away early in the season. I am hoping that it is just first season nerves!
Originally discovered growing in a mountain seep in California.
