Eryngium gracile
8th September 2015
A seed collection by Crug Farm Plants from Guatemala. They found them on the high altitude plateau
of Sierra de los Cuchumatanes growing at 2,800m.
In habitat it was forming small plants 15cm tall but in the Agave house it has grown to about 60cm
and produced lax stems of flower heads, each backed by a ruff of silvery bracts. Crug's notes
suggest that it shouldn't dry out, which probably explains why it has been rather slow under cover.
