Eyrthronium dens-canis 'Purple King'
4th March 2012
A pale purple flowered form of the species (the photograph has been overexposed by a shaft of spring sunshine, which is welcome but deceptive).
This is not a species that I have ever succeeded with but it is time to take it a bit more seriously and work out if it is
incompetence of the action of chance that has killed them in the past.

I'm not sure if mine is the original clone, it seems to be a bit lighter than some photographs.
Cultivated plants seem to be traceable back to Ascreavie, the garden of the plant hunter George Sherriff
though that may not be its origin.
