Eucalyptus forrestiana
14th September 2013
A small tree from Western Australia known as the Fuchsia Gum because of the red flowers with yellow anthers.
I was given a young seedling by a friend and planted it in the Agave house because the species is said to be
very drought tolerant. Perhaps it is, but it didn't survive the first winter which is unfortunate because
it would have been very decorative in flower and it is just possible that I could have kept it small enough
to fit under the roof.
