Eucomis comosa 'Oakhurst'
25th August 2016
A red leaved form of the species that is very similar to 'Sparkling Burgundy' - the slight differences
that have been recorded are inconsistent. Introduced by Terra Nova Nurseries in Oregon, it was originally discovered
at a nursery in San Diego.
In my estimation it has held its colour better in the warmth of the greenhouse than 'Sparkling Burgundy'
but with one bulb of each it's hardly a definitive test.
