Eucomis pallidiflora ssp. pallidiflora
A wonderful leafy tall growing species, but it needs staking, or a handy concrete wall to lean against. There has been a suggestion that it might not be all that hardy,
but it seems to manage here.

Growing outside it has been stronger and more interesting in flower, the colour works well with the
dead grasses around it and justifies my lazy weeding.

In an abstract sense E. pallidiflora ssp. pallidiflora (which this may be) differs from E. p. ssp. pole-evansii in its longer stem with more densely packed flowers. The differences
are not clear-cut.
