Eucomis vandermerwei

Eucomis vandermerwei is the dwarf of the genus, and now being used to produce a range of
dwarf dark flowered hybrids. My own plant has yet to flower, this picture was taken at Trecanna Nurseries
during their African Plants weekend last year.

For some reason photos of my plants are all rather feeble, so this is the plant in seed at Wisley, looking almost as good as it does in flower.

Dark flowers that are rather lax in the greenhouse. It would be better in stronger light and with less water.
