Ficus religiosa
28th June 2012
I was given a seedling of this tropical tree and grew it for a bit of fun in the greenhouse through summer.
Winter came and it defoliated and the remaining twig slowly dessicated so I assumed it was dead.
I was pleasantly surprised when it produced a shoot from ground level the following summer.
I doubt it will survive in the long term, but it has been planted out in the Agave house and will get a chance.

I didn't manage to keep it alive in the greenhouse and I havent managed to keep it alive in the Agave house.
Many years ago I grew it as a house plant, but it suffered terribly from red spider mite and was impossible to
keep under control in a small pot so I think I am facing the fact that it is beyond my facilities.
