Filipendula 'Kakome'
3rd August 2017
Also known as F. 'Kahome'.
A dwarf growing plant, most of the leaves are basal so it stays compact and tidy through the
season. The bright pink flowers reach about 50cm tall in a moist border.
First distributed in the UK by Blooms of Bressingham, the first reference I can find to it in their catalogue
comes from autumn 1992 where they say:
"Discerning gardeners will be enchanted by this truly dwarf shade loving Japanese form.
It provides a succession of fine frothy bright rose red plumes above low mounded fresh
green foliage. Prefers moist soil and partial shade. On our list for coming popularity."
