Ficaria verna 'Flore-plena'

26th March 2005
This may be the double flowered form found by John Rea sometime before 1670, however double forms
have been found on a number of occasions since then, and this may be one of them. This plant is
quite vigorous with me, prospering in the woodland, though a bit shy to flower. In a pot
it produces masses of intricate petalled flowers on long stems. The flowers are a little small, but easily
 forgiven.
