A lot of saplings were planted around the garden in the early years, before there was much of a layout to work with
and they have not always been in suitable places. As the Ash among them grew larger and started to dominate
I felled some to clear space, and painted a number of them blue to add interest.

Years later they have faded and I would repaint them, but their time has come, they are now in the way
and will be felled as soon as possible (but these things take time).

I have taken to watching the twigs of the established trees for Ash dieback. Fortunately this is just the winter appearance of the leafless trees.
