Freesia leichtlinii

A white flowered species from the Cape region of South Africa. It has also naturalised in California and Argentina
and become a weed in Australia.
In the greenhouse it flowers in late spring and the leafy stems flop about rather untidily.

It performs well every year and it is easy to forgive a rather lax habit when the pot overflows with flowers.
It might be scented, but I have never noticed it and with all of these white Freesia the name could be entirely wrong.
