I am as ignorant on the subject of fritillaries as a person can be so it is not worth taking any notice of anything I say.
When I was a young thing I grew the well known "black" form of F. camschatcensis for a couple of seasons. That phase of my life
when anything with a black flower was going to attract attention.
At the time, the black form (and its double flowered manifestation) were available from Japanese stock and plants in cultivation may well have been a single clone.
I didn't give it much more thought until I was offered the Alaskan form and thought it was worth a try.
It has been quite easy in a pot though it didn't set seed.
