Fuchsia loxensis
Originating in Ecuador, at altitudes of 2,000 - 3,000m, this charming lax little shrub has proved quite hardy here.
For a couple of years it sailed through winter undamaged, but last year it was cut to the ground in February,
though it re-grew during the summer.
First discovered by Humboldt and Bonpland near Loja.
