Galanthus bortkewitschianus
26th February 2012
Or at least it was Galanthus bortkewitschianus when I first met it, nowadays it is treated as G.alpinus ssp. bortkewitschianus.
Looking rather grubby because it has only just been replanted!

G. alpinus var. bortkewitschianus is a strange plant, slightly shorter than the typical variety. It is a sterile triploid population that
only increases by division. It is restricted to a single relatively tiny population in Russia.
