Galanthus 'Jonathan'
25th February 2015
A pretty, vigorous (ordinary) selection of Galanthus elwesii elwesii. A hundred years ago
we might have been moderately excited to have a good, attractive, perennial form of the species
and young upstarts would have noted that you could get as good from the bulb dealers for a penny a dozen.
By now it would be famous and a beloved part of the long heritage of snowdrop snufflers.
Snowdrops have changed in the last hundred years, along with everything else. Now it is barely
worth a curious swipe on an i-pad.
