Oh, the Northumberland yellow snowdrops, precious pearls of beauty scattered through that northern county
to tempt and beguile foolish southerners like me. I have avoided them for years because of their reputation
for attracting fickle and whimsical death, but I finally invested in a nice litle pot grown plant.
When I planted it out I found out it was just half of a bulb rammed into a pot at the last minute.
Never trust the sweet little ladies who sell plants!
It hasn't reappeared this year and I wasn't really surprised. A day may come when the accumulated folding
currency in my pocket starts to chafe my leg and I feel obliged to try again. It may be a while.
