Wouldn't it be lovely if I knew what I was doing? Well. I don't.
This is a Gentian and I do appallingly badly with Gentians. I am determined to do some trials with growing
conditions, and this poor plant is in for a bit of a time of it. Wher you have failed as often as I have
with a genus, the time comes to try something outrageous and Gentiana ligustica
will probably not survive the trial and may never appear here again. That is how bad I am with the genus.
This species comes from the Maritime Alps in France (and in a bizarre twist of fate I may actually have seen
it in habitat many decades ago - I will look for the photo's).
Part of the G. acaulis complex with relatively short leaves, so my seedling is not looking very
typical at present.

I am not sure that it has grown significantly since I bought it, but it has flowered and not died so far.
