Geranium 'Blue Sunrise'
22nd August 2010
When I bought this I was hoping for carpets of yellow leaves and blue flowers. As you can see, I have
got lime leaves and pinkish flowers. I was not expecting it to be especially vigorous, and it isn't. I
have it planted in the herbaceous border where I hope it will provide some variation from the leaves
of Hemerocallis, and fill in with some colour when the Daylilies are being dull (it happens).
A hybrid between G.wallichianum 'Buxton's Variety' and G. 'Ann Folkard', raised in
Holland by Hans Kramer. It is becoming very popular among nurserymen because it is small, looks good
in a pot and sounds good on a label. Time will tell if that is enough.

It has persisted without ever becoming wonderful. Occasional yellow shoots in spring alert me to its presence
and the blue flowers have a brief charm but it has never made a roaring clump of wonder.
