Gloxinia nematanthoides 'Evita'
7th October 2015
A charming gesneriad with scarlet flowers that tolerates winter cold reasonably well but takes an age to get going in a cool summer.
With similar stem tubers to an Achimenes it has a simuilar need for a warm start in the spring.
Introduced from 4000ft elevation in Argentina by Plant Delights Nursery and said to be a reliable perennial in North Carolina.
