Gorgonidium intermedium

I saw this quite by chance as I was walking out the door at Desert to Jungle uynder the name Spathantheum intermedium, and had to go back for it. I am not sure that it is different from S.orbignyanum, or how the species are distinguished. A quick ferret around online didn't provide any clear answers, so I am waiting to see if they look the same when growing together.

Plants of the World online says:

"The native range of this species is Peru. It is a tuberous geophyte and grows primarily in the seasonally dry tropical biome."

The International Aroid Society say:

"Gorgonidium intermedium is an aroid species distinguished by its unique inflorescence and leaf structure, typical of the genus. Initially described by Bogner and later reclassified by E.G. Gonç, it is notable among aroids for its distinctive morphology and contribution to the diversity of the group."

It wasn't hardy enough to survive in the greenhouse though it could probably be stored dry in the house through the winter.
