Hesperantha coccinea 'Zeal Salmon'
25th November 2011
At about the time my first wave of seedlings were flowering I discovered that Terry Jones had covered the same
ground a decade earlier, and this is one of his selections. The pale flecking in the flower doesn't always show
but it is inherited from 'Pallida' which we had both used. I was hoping to produce a large flowered plant with
very pale flowers and ended up with some middle of the road plants with mottled flowers. There are rumours of some
very recent seedlings from other breeders that have striking mottling but 'Zeal Salmon' is still the best on the market.
