Hedychium 'Moy Giant'

A very large growing hybrid between Hedychium coronarium and Hedychium coccineum.
Raised by Dr. Ying Doon Moy at San Antonio Botanic Garden. Large yellow flowers with an orange blotch
at the base of the labellum are very strongly scented.

This cultivar tends to be eclipsed by the variegated 'Dr.Moy', so I was pleased to see it coming into flower. Unfortunately the cold weather prevented it
from maturing.
