The "Tai" series of hybrid Hedychium were all raised by Doyle Smittle, previously of the
University of Georgia and selected for their floral impact. They are slowly being distributed
more widely.
"Plants grow 4-6 feet tall, have broad dark green leaves and a bottlebrush shaped terminal inflorescence. Blooms begin in Georgia
in July and continue until frost. The 10-15 inch inflorescence produces 90-130 creamy white, 3 inch butterfly shaped blossoms
having light orange stamens."
