The "Tai" series of hybrid Hedychium were all raised by Doyle Smittle, previously of the
University of Georgia and selected for their floral impact. They are slowly being distributed
more widely.
The description from Plantation Gardens says:
"Plants are 4-5 feet tall. Blooms begin in July in Georgia and continue until frost. The 8-12 inch inflorescence produces 50-75
creamy yellow, 2.5 inch butterfly shaped flowers having orange pistillate structures."
