Helleborus x hybridus 'Pluto'

Raised by Eric Smith, and from the same parentage as 'Miranda' ('Colchicus Superbus' x torquatus), it was used widely as a parent in later hybrids, and it is probably in the ancestry
of many of the modern strains.
An interesting dark hybrid when it was introduced (1971), it has now been eclipsed by modern seed strains. (Naturally, an old fossil like me was delighted to get hold of
a piece of ancient history like this).

My plant has died, it failed to establish very well and I failed to notice. This is a picture of the plant growing at Rosemoor,
just for reference.
