Hydrangea macrophylla 'Blauling'

One of the Teller series cultivars, raised by Wadenswill in Switzerland. They come in a range of colours
but they are generally lacecaps with thick stems and large florets. 'Blauling' was named in 1984.
I have been impressed by the deep colour in the shade. The year after it was planted it went a bit pinkish
but it has recovered.
