Hydrangea macrophylla 'Nikko Blue'

Thirty years ago I had a bit of a thing for Hydrangeas and some of them remain in the garden. Others remain only
in the memory which is notoriously unreliable. With some slight trepidation I have replaced 'Nikko Blue'.
I remember it as a compact shrub with soft blue flowers and that is what it seems to be.
I like it, but it has small leaves and thin growth unlike the lusty giants of modern breeding. This has a cautious fragility
about it, like an elderly person lowering themselves into a deck chair. All pale elbows and precarious balances.
