The yellow flowered Ipheion are very confused. This one came to me as Ipheion hirtellum/philippii
and since I can't find an authority for the name I.philippii I am going to stick with I.hirtellum
(such are the whimsical ways of practical taxonomy).
From Argentina and Uraguay this autumn flowering species is said to grow in open pastureland. If it has leaves
then I water it, and when it dies down at the end of spring I stop. It is a simple regime, but it seems to work.
