Originally discovered by Mrs O.Taylor-Smith at Froyle Mill, Alton, Hampshire, it is also the most reliably early
flowering for me. It will produce a good autumn show in most years if many-flowered is the criterion for good.
The earliest flowers are always usually a rather washed out colour and won't develop the full purple
until the spring sun hits them.
