Iris tectorum "Burma Form White"

7th June 2006

Iris tectorum is a common species from Southeast Asia, especially China and Japan, where it is often grown on rooves, and associated with masonry and human habitation. This white form came from Burma (via Mike Salmon). I had a blue form as well, but it was so riddled with virus that I was happy to put it out of its misery.
I have never managed to make it really happy - I think it prefers drier sunnier locations than I give it.
