Lachenalia pallida
Archive entry 15.03.15

Another one new to me in the last year and another name that I think may have been mnisapplied. I don't think
the flowers of the true species flare as widely as this.

A very variable species, mine has blue flowers at the top of the spike but paler straw coloured at the base. Early descriptions described a yellow form
but darker blue flowers are said to be more common in the wild. Found along the western edge of the Western Cape.
