2nd December 2017
In the summer I saw Leucadendron 'Burgundy Sunset' growing beside the sea in Falmouth.
I went straight out and bought one!
28th February 2018
The snow came and a couple of days later the "Beast from the East" arrived and everything dessicated
in the freezing wind. The Leucadendron died.
6th September 2018
So I replaced it. Too good to give up on yet.

A purple leaved sport from L. 'Safari Sunset' , a hybrid between L. laureolum and L. salignum.
In 1999 John and Petronella Barson found a purple leaved mutation on a plant of 'Safari Sunset' on their property in Victor Harbour, South Australia and were able to root cuttings.
A very similar sport occurred on a plant in New Zealand and was named L. 'Ebony'.<
