Liriodendron tulipifera 'Aureomaculata'

As beautiful as the green leaved form, but with a rich golden heart to every leaf. I am really good at planting Liriodendronin the wrong place -
my oldest tree is in the middle of one of the long views in the garden, I wish it was a few feet to the side, but too late now.
This little tree has been moved three times, and has finally settled into it's current location. As that corner of the garden develops
it becomes clearer and clearer that it is in the way! I'm going to have to grit my teeth and live with it.

It has grown large enough to mean that even pictures of the leaves are hard to get.

It is growing in the way but I like it so I was prepared to live with it. Then one winter morning I discovered that rabbits had entirely
ring barked it and it died during the spring. I am trying to sound up-beat about it and am really really pissed off.
