My involvement with Lithops goes back about thirty years. They are small, look like little stones and don't vary all that much. Nowadays, I am pushing
the boundaries - will they survive outdoors? I don't know. Nothing has yet, but they do experience frost in their natural habitat, so it is just about duration and moisture levels.
In case you were wondering - this was a casualty!
