A wonderful winter flowering shrubby honeysuckle. It is true that it has rather a lot of supportive twiggery and rather a small load of flowers to hold up, but they have the
most delicious scent that floats through the garden on a still winter day like threads of hot fudge cake.

Every year it flowers delightfully but rather sparingly, and every year I see L. x purpusii 'Winter Beauty'
and L. standishii exploding with blooms and I wonder why I don't replace it. It has tenacious roots
is the simple answer.
