Lonicera nitida
23rd March 2021
A scrubby evergreen honeysuckle from the mountains of southwest China. Many years ago I lined out a large number of rooted cuttings that I had no immediate use for.
The time finally came to grub them up and free the space for something more interesting. It is a dull but practical species that fills space without
providing any other value. It has gone and I haven't missed it, though I have little doubt that suckers will continue to appear for a few years.
