Every now and then the Gesneriaceae produces a sub-shrubby member. They generally produce brittle stems and make rather untidy pots, but the flowers can be wonderful.
This species is quite widespread through Japan, China, Taiwan and Vietnam.

White flowers with purple lines in the throat, but they can also be darker pink to almost purple.
