A young plant that I bought in 2012 because it looked so charming in a pot.
Introduced from Mexico where it makes a large shrub or small tree with broad, evergreen leaves. Uncertain hardiness
so I have it in the Hedychium house for now.

It has survived without trouble and grown into a single ungainly stem with a tuft of leaves on top. Last year I planted it out
under some alder trees and time will tell if it becomes more attractive with age.
