Mahonia x media 'Maharajah'

Usualy listed as a form of M. napaulensis this is now thought to be a selection of M.x media though its proper attribution remains unclear.
"Bean" notes that John de Putron of Caledonia Nursery in Guernsey says that his nursery introduced it from India as a growing plant.

In the greenhouse it was the most magnificent selection of the hybrid. It was planted out in the spring and I am waiting for it to repeat
the spectacle in the garden.
