Introduced from the mountains of Taiwan by Bleddyn and Sue Wynn-Jones. Fluffy sprays of pure white starry flowers. The stems have reached 50cm here,
but can manage double that on established plants.
The Crug Farm Plants catalogue entry says:
"One of our best introductions from the high mountains of Taiwan. Rhizomatous perennial, with mahogany-red arching stems, clothed in large alternating ribbed leaves,
terminating in a raceme of scented cup-shaped white flowers in spring, followed by fleshy red fruits. Height 75-100cm. Spread 45cm. Requires partial shade and moist but drained soil."
