If you have looked through the other pages, you will have realised that Smilacina names are in a bit of a pickle at the moment. The entire genus has just been moved into Maianthemum
, which shouldn't really present a problem, but at the same time a number of new plants have arrived from China, and collectors have introduced a number of previously unseen
species from central america. Perhaps someone clever will come along and sort it all out for us (there's always hope)!
And in the meantime, I have no idea what to make of this plant. It came from Chen Yi in China under the collection number S30 (400m asl), it is quite charming and it has pubescent stems.
It is not S.trifolium which has single flowers, comes from Canada, and clearly isn't this plant.
