Malus x floribunda
15th May 2021
During the 1980's I had a number of seedlings of Malus x floribunda and eventually one of them was planted in an out-of-the-way corner in the garden
where it has grown in shade and obscurity for decades. As I thin the surrounding trees it has started to flower.
Widely cultivated in Japan, it is not known from the wild and is assumed to be a hybrid.
