Masdevallia ignea
10th April 2021
I have been looking through the orchids of the high Andes to see if there are any that might suit my cold conditions
and the higher growing Masdevallia seemed like good candidates so I am trying a few cautiously.
Masdevallia ignea grows at eleveations from 2,600 to 3,800m in the Eastern Cordillera of Colombia. It survived the first winter
in the greenhouse well enough to flower in spring and I am currently optimistic.
