I used to have a serious 'thing' for Berberis, and Mahonia are quite irresistible so this hybrid (M.aquifolium x B.sargentiana)
will always be welcome in the garden, though it isn't the most striking thing to be found even when in full flower.

Believed to be a hybrid between Mahonia aquifolium and Berberis sargentii, it was raised in Sweden by H. Jensen in 1943.
