Myrtus paraguayensis
8th November 2018
An attractive evergreen myrtle.
Non-committal enough for you? There are some problems. Many of the Myrtus species have wandered off into other genera
and I am still deeply confused. More seriously, the name doesn't seem to be recorded anywhere as a formal botanical combination.
So I have this plant, it is being distributed under this name, and the name doesn't exist. I have this plant!

Very like Luma apiculata in growth and foliage however it has been substantially less hardy in my garden where the upper shoots were damaged last winter.
