Narcissus 'Cornish Chuckles'

9th March 2017

A charming and vigorous dwarf daffodil raised by Harry I. Tuggle, Jr. in Virginia, USA in 1973. Registered by the Cornish Bulb Growers Association in 1996. A seedling from a cross between N. 'Matador' and N. cyclamineus. For a while it was promoted as a successor to 'Tete a Tete' but it hasn't quite made it. It is an excellent little plant and it's a pity that its sights were set so high.
When Harry Tuggle Jr died in 1969, his executors sent seedlings and seed to Rosewarne Experimental Horticulture Station and this was selected from them.
