Neomarica caerulea
13th July 2008
The walking Iris is a Brazilian species that seems to be hardy here, although there is always the risk that a sharp winter will kill it.
The large purple flowers are followed by new tufts of leaves in the flower head which root as the flower stems bend down to the ground
under their weight. Really good glaucous evergreen foliage, best in a moist location.
