A seedling selected from a cross between N. 'Lady Loder' and N. sarniensis curvifolia fothergillii raised by Lionel de Rothschild.
In the Nerine Nurseries catalogue for 1979-80, Tony Norris says:
"This large mandarin red triplopid is very vigorous and the six inches diameter flower is outstanding. The 12 or so florets with outstanding red stamens makes this a very desirable flower."
